Maker Farm is a 19th farmhouse sited in the beautiful countryside of the Rame Peninsula in SE Cornwall. The farm is a fine example of traditional stone construction common to this area standing in a walled courtyard with fine views to the South and East.
The brief was to construct an annexe to the original farmhouse in order to provide a new home for the Clients to live during their retirement. The main house would then become the home for the Clients Daughter, Son-in-Law and Grandchildren.
The new accommodation was to be in the form of an annexe with connecting door to the main house to provide the correct levels of connection and separation requisite for the two families to live in harmony and allow for the important job of grand parenting.
It was important that the new building should respect the quality of the existing farmhouse and whilst having its own individual presence it would sit sympathetically alongside. The result was a building of timeless quality with the attitude of a converted barn.

We write to thank you for all your work on the construction of the Annexe to Maker Farm.
You helped us through the project with good nature and patience and your guidance and advice was instrumental in helping us to achieve the ideal building for our needs. You promptly responded to our queries and concerns and ensured that the process was a pleasure from beginning to end.
We have received many compliments from neighbours and friends on our new home and we have no hesitation in recommending you to others who require the services of an Architect.
