Peter Senior is a fully qualified Architect with varied experience in the construction industry. He spent 10 years running a building company primarily engaged in the construction of and refurbishment of residential properties in North Wales including work to heritage and listed buildings. In his late 20s he attended Plymouth University to study architecture, qualifying in 1996
Peter worked as architectural assistant and subsequently Architect in a small practice in Dartmoor with a varied work load covering individual housing, community projects and ecclesiastical projects
The period between 1998 to 2007 he worked as Project Architect for an architectural and interior design practice based initially in Chelsea and subsequently based in Mayfair. Projects worked on during this period included refurbishment of large townhouse in Mayfair, Chelsea and Belgravia, New builds in Kuwait, Ireland, New Forest and London Green Belt
PGS Architects was formed in 2008 since when numerous projects have been undertaken many located in coastal locations in Cornwall and the South Hams areas in the South-West.
HOW WE WORK
Projects undertaken generally follow the following RIBA Plan of Work
Description of Stage
Site visit taking dimensions and details as necessary and photographs. Production of a survey drawing.
Design work to evolve a scheme for discussion with you. Meeting to discuss this scheme. Further design work and meetings, as necessary, until a satisfactory scheme is produced.
Production of presentation drawings and application for planning permission.
Production of detailed drawings and construction specification submitted to the Local Authority for Building Regulation Approval, I will deal with all queries resulting from the application.
Preparation of construction drawings, written specification and Schedule of Works, seek competitive tenders from Contractors appropriate for the works and advise you of the results and discuss these with you. As necessary I will arrange revisions to the schedule and price.
Prepare and collate Contract Documents to be signed between yourself and the Contractor including specific start and finish dates, oversee the Contract with regular visits and meetings, agree interim payments through to completion, deal with snagging items, retentions and settling of final account.
