Furzelings

Furzelings a detached mid twentieth century bungalow on the edge of the Rame Peninsula ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ located in an elevated position looking over the village of Cawsand to Cawsand Bay.

 

The owners brief for the project was to modernise the property with the addition of a ground floor Kitchen/Diner to take advantage of the main view to the sea and provide a new first floor to accommodate new master bedroom suite.

 

The solution was a high vaulted ceilinged timber framed sun room on masonry plinth wall providing welcome vertical height to contrast with the lower ceilings of the existing bungalow the large glazing allowing light to flood in and providing views to open countryside and the coast.

 

At the first floor level a new dimension was added to the house with master bedroom commanding the same views with master bathroom knitted into the complex geometry of the roof form.

 

The new media cupboard, wardrobes, work station, fire surround and bathrooms were all designed as bespoke items to meet the owners requirements.

 

To finish the project, the existing gardens were newly landscaped with summer house and terraces to make the most of the views.
